ORGANISED LABOR THREATENS STATE LEGISLATORS AND GOVERNORS ON NEW MINIMUM WAGE
Organized labor has asked the state house of assemblies to impeach governors who fail to pay the new minimum wage.
Emmanuel Ugboaja, general-secretary of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), made the appeal while speaking to journalists on Sunday in Lagos.
The governors, however, said the agreement between the federal government and labor is not binding on them.
He said the organized labor is in support of the return of the labor advisory council, which would help to mediate between the government and workers.
Labor is, however, asking the federal government to take action against employers who will not pay the new wage.
